Context and challenges: Installux's testimonial on the 3D Commerce solution

Presentation of the company

Installux is a brand belonging to the Installux Group, an independent French family-owned group, founded in 1923, which designs, produces and distributes aluminium profiles.

The brand is aimed at a professional clientele, in particular joinery craftsmen, and generates sales of around €90 million.

Installux has some forty partner craftsmen throughout France who are members of the Xperience program.

Presentation of the interviewee

Presentation by Carole Geliza, Installux Xperience Program Development Manager.

The Xpérience program brings together a community of aluminum joinery manufacturers looking to develop their business.

It offers its artisan customers :

  • Quarterly events
  • Sales operations
  • Support in the use of web and print promotional tools made available to its members.

In addition, Xperience gives access to some twenty supplier partners who complement the craft trades, selected for their quality of service and negotiated conditions.

What was your initial problem?

The collaboration with Retail VR began in the context of the Covid-19 containment project, with the creation of virtual showrooms based on photorealistic digital twins.

Our customers' physical showrooms were less busy at the time. To remedy this situation, we came up with the idea with Retail VR of making 3D showrooms available to all our retailer customers. This immersive solution met with great success, becoming a relevant showcase for our customers.

A second problem then arose: the suppliers who were partners in the Xperience program were not sufficiently visible to our craftsmen customers: it was difficult to contact them, and to easily understand their service offering. This is why we set up the virtual "market place".

What were your objectives with this market place solution?

The aim was to create a dynamic and increased visibility for our partners, for the benefit of our artisan customers.

In concrete terms, this means :

  • animate a community bringing together all the marketplace's professional, internal and partner players
  • plan events and promotional offers
  • to suggest anything that might be useful to this community.

Solution and feedback: Installux testifies on the 3D Commerce solution

How did the 3D Commerce solution help you solve your initial problem?

Each of the solutions met our expectations, albeit for different purposes.

For our craftsmen customers, the introduction of virtual showrooms has considerably improved the visibility of their establishments, especially for private customers. They are spread over a vast territory, and a virtual visit to their showroom is a guarantee of their reliability. Craftsmen can now offer and promote their showrooms, digitized by Retail VR. These showrooms are accessible on their respective websites.

The marketplace, meanwhile, is available on the Installux Xperience intranet, for use by customers and partners. This platform serves as a showcase both for professionals, who can enrich their content, and for customers, who can find information that will make their day-to-day work as craftsmen easier.

It's important to remember that these are entrepreneurs and craftsmen, so their time is precious. Ultimately, the virtual marketplace serves to facilitate exchanges between the professionals who gravitate around Installux.

What facilities/difficulties did you encounter in setting up?

Setting up the project went smoothly, without any particular difficulties. Communication with the Retail VR team was fluid and fruitful. Customer feedback was also very positive.

What are the advantages of this solution?

The marketplace brings dynamism, modernity and quality to the rendering. It's also easy to use and intuitive.

When a craftsman customer is looking for a service offer, he goes to the market place. Here they can :

  • consult our offers
  • access various video contents, prices, brochures
  • contact the partner concerned to carry out the project

As for virtual showrooms, they are totally intuitive to use. It allows our customers to have a beautiful showcase and differentiate themselves from their competitors, while generating more traffic.

What benefits did you perceive?

The members we interviewed expressed their satisfaction with the solutions we provide. In both cases, they help generate more traffic on partner sites. In this way, they boost their visibility and attractiveness to potential customers.

Why did you choose Retail VR?

We chose Retail VR for the ease of communication and their responsiveness. They quickly understood our problem and were able to propose a relevant solution immediately.

What next for this project?

The virtual showcase originally set up for this project led to the creation of a marketplace for our partners. This second project has enabled us to maintain the momentum and continue to offer an attractive platform for partners.

About us

The project

Offer used: 3D Commerce.

  • Virtual showrooms: 3D virtual tours(photo-realistic capture), where the customer navigates in a digitized physical space (digital twin) of a store or showroom, where multimedia content can be accessed to discover a service or product and make online purchases.

  • Virtual Store: a virtual space imagined by our customers and created by our 3D graphic designers, in which users navigate and discover a brand universe, products, videos and multimedia content. Users navigate through this virtual space, discovering services and products, and making online purchases.

The goal: visibility, dynamism and modernity

Users : partners and end customers

Retail VR

Founded in 2018, Retail VR offers a 3D experience platform to accelerate sales and retail processes.

Limited travel, high showroom operating costs, reduced carbon footprints - in this context, it's hard to come up with new concepts, or successfully launch a product or run a promotional campaign.

Thanks to our 2D/3D converter, we can create 3D environments and content very quickly.

Our solutions help brand owners and retailers to simulate their points of sale, validate product launches and work on consumer studies. We also help them to digitalize their showrooms and offer immersive, brand-enhancing shopping experiences, thus saving time and money.
