Retail VR: our innovative digital solutions rewarded
For SONOVISION Magazine, Retail VR is selected among the 5 most innovative start-ups members of the POPAI. We are very proud of this! Following the 4th edition of the CRI's call for applications - on April 16, the Connected Retail Incubator (CRI) welcomes 9 new start-ups.
Start-ups specialized in innovative digital solutions
The jury of experts voted and selected 9 start-ups, whose solutions are undoubtedly increasing :
- the customer experience,
- the organization of the sector,
- the logistics of the actors,
- and the reactivity of retailers.
This 4th edition of Call for Entries has once again confirmed that Point of Sale Marketing is constantly evolving! In fact, on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, the IRC commission auditioned about fifteen startups specialized in innovative digital solutions in point of sale.
Innovative digital solutions for retail
The start-ups presented their innovative digital solutions during one day. The themes were, for example, the following:
- in-store geolocation,
- omnichannel platform,
- connected objects (IoT),
- virtual reality,
- web to store,
- Mobile POS,
- tracking,
- retailtainment.

Pitchboy
A start-up that offers a training tool for sales and customer relations in virtual reality, with a simulation of the conversation supported by an Artificial Intelligence (AI). In concrete terms, the software offers professionals the opportunity to train in real conditions in public speaking and the art of convincing. Indeed, a learner retains only 20% of what he hears, 30% of what he sees and 90% of what he does. With Pitchboy, even the less experienced can acquire concrete experience. A revolution for training in a professional world where only field experience counts.
Akoustic Arts
The start-up develops a directional sound technology that allows to target a specific area without disturbing the non-targeted people. The result of four years of research and development, this ultra-directional sound technology is based on a software called UDST. The audio content is transported through the air creating a tunnel from which the sound does not escape; the technology creates "private sound bubbles" without having to wear headphones. This allows the audience to interact with their environment...
Wiissle
A long time ago, "street criers" used to call out to passers-by to give them the latest local news... Today, Wiissle, whistles them in your ear, but only when you are available to listen to them and only after you have selected the ones that may interest you. Wiissle is the story of a paronymy...A what? An association of 2 expressions by sound resemblance " between Whistle (whistle in English) and We sell (we sell)...
Indigo, connected retail
This start-up is specialized in the digitalization of the point of sale. More specifically, in the improvement of the customer experience and the collection of data related to the consumer's actions in a purchasing situation... Its C-Retail kit is an interactive shelf head system linked to a software. It analyzes consumer behavior and measures the attractiveness of products on the shelf, at the moment of purchase decision. Its solution uses a wide range of technologies (NFC, WIFI, iBEacon ...). It allows a progressive contact with users, with a dialogue between the brand and the consumer...
