Background and challenges: Jamini testifies to its Virtual Showroom solution

Presentation of the company

When Indian art de vivre meets French elegance.

Founded in 2013 by Usha Bora, Jamini is a high-end home furnishings brand born of the encounter between Parisian chic and Indian craftsmanship. Products in cotton, wool and silk are hand-woven or printed by artisans from different regions of India and revisited to give a Western touch to blend cultures. The brand has a flagship store in Paris, and now a virtual showroom accessible from the website.

What was your problem?

We had two problems to solve:

Firstly, we had noticed a certain frustration among our customers at not being able to enter the world of Jamini. Not all of them live in Paris, or are able to visit our boutique, where the spirit of the brand is concentrated.

The second point was to give the keys to understanding how to combine sets of patterns, colors and materials, and how to recreate the same kind of atmosphere as in our boutique, but right in your own home.

What were your objectives with this solution?

Our main objective is to create an immersive experience that allows you to fully immerse yourself in the world of Jamini.

On the one hand, the virtual showroom solution makes access to our flagship extremely easy and intuitive: you can visit the boutique, the lounge, bedroom or tableware areas, for example.

On the other hand, the virtual boutique allows you to get inspired and discover the spirit of travel, the atmosphere, the know-how and not just the product, but everything that makes up our brand.

In a word: enter the tunnel of the Jamini universe.

Solution and feedback: Jamini's testimonial on the Virtual Showroom solution

How did the Virtual Showroom solution help you solve your initial problem?

First of all, as I naturally do with my customers, it's important for me to present our mission and brand values as soon as you enter our virtual boutique. The video introduction at the showroom opening introduces the brand through its purpose, its mission and, more generally, its identity. The customer is thus accompanied from the very first steps into the Jamini universe.

Then, the different atmospheres in the virtual showroom reflect the plurality of possible blends between the cultures and styles we offer.

And of course, this virtual experience showcases the full range of our products in real-life situations, helping our customers to imagine how they might integrate them into their interiors.

What facilities/difficulties did you encounter in setting up?

The project started just as Retail VR was making major changes to its solution. In fact, we encountered a few temporary difficulties at the very beginning, then we evolved and grew together.

On the whole, we're impressed by the fluidity of the exchanges and the availability of the sales and project management teams. It's a pleasure to work with Retail VR in a good atmosphere.

What are the advantages of this solution?

The virtual showroom has become a real work tool.

We're considered the mix & match experts, and our customers expect a lot of advice from us. We sometimes find it difficult to respond to everyone.

Now, as soon as a customer asks us questions about our range or color combinations, we can redirect them to the virtual showroom. This tool becomes a source of inspiration. The showroom can be used to show assemblies, give advice and even activate sales levers.

What's more, this solution has found another use, as we also use it internally to train our sales team in visual merchandising and mix & match techniques.

What benefits did you perceive? Have you had any feedback on this usage (client/platform side)

We have seen many benefits. There has been a 90% increase in sales on the site, evidenced by an increase in the average basket and conversion rate. Traffic has increased by a factor of 3 compared with the same period last year.

The virtual store is very intuitive, feedback has been positive and to date we haven't had any comments from customers expressing difficulties in using it.

For the moment, we haven't yet been trained in analytics, but this is planned for the autumn. By then, we'll have even greater visibility of how our customers are using it.

Collaboration and follow-up: Jamini testifies to its Virtual Showroom solution

Why did you choose Retail VR?

We consulted 3 companies for the same project. We decided that Retail VR had the most comprehensive offer. They were the most available and responsive. And as a bonus, they're friendly!

They also listened to our needs, including our budget, and were able to make adjustments.

What next for this project?

Of course, we'd like to continue our collaboration and go even further in the experiments we propose.

Initially, we wanted to make mix & match proposals according to customers' needs, and offer them the possibility of simulating the assemblies in their homes. The virtual showroom is an intermediate step. Our aim is to support them more effectively in choosing products and decorating. The live experience via augmented reality is what we'd like to integrate in the near future.

Retail VR

Founded in 2018, Retail VR offers a 3D experience platform to accelerate sales and retail processes.

Limited travel, high showroom operating costs, reduced carbon footprints - in this context, it's hard to come up with new concepts, or successfully launch a product or run a promotional campaign.

Thanks to our 2D/3D converter, we can create 3D environments and content very quickly.

Our solutions help brand owners and retailers to simulate their points of sale, validate product launches and work on consumer studies. We also help them to digitalize their showrooms and offer immersive, brand-enhancing shopping experiences, thus saving time and money.
