Our Environmental Policy

As a digital company operating in the retail sector, issues related to good business conduct, ethics, the environment, and cybersecurity are particularly important to RETAIL VR. Innovation has been at the heart of the company since its inception.

PRIORITY AREA 1. Managing Energy Consumption and Carbon Impact

The digital sector accounts for more than 4% of France’s carbon footprint—29.5 Mt of CO2 emitted in 2022—a share that is steadily increasing. Nearly half of these greenhouse gas emissions are linked to data centers.

Our company wants to do its part and help reverse this trend by optimizing the energy efficiency of its infrastructure and reducing the carbon footprint of its services.

Target icon
Reduce the carbon footprint of our business by 30% by 2030 compared to 2023 (the year of our first carbon assessment) (in kg CO2e / revenue).

PRIORITY AREA 2. Resource Conservation and Waste Reduction

The digital sector consumes a great deal of materials and resources. It also generates a significant amount of waste, much of which is not properly recycled. Waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is growing rapidly.

Furthermore, like many service providers, our operations generate office waste. Through this policy, we are committed to reducing our waste production and promoting recycling and reuse.

Limit our use of raw materials and extend the lifespan of our computer equipment.

Our Ethics and Innovation Policy

As a digital company operating in the retail sector, issues related to good business conduct, ethics, and cybersecurity are particularly important to RETAIL VR. At the same time, innovation has been at the heart of the company since its inception.

Through its “Ethics and Innovation” policy, RETAIL VR aims to reaffirm its commitment to providing high-performance, innovative solutions to its customers, while ensuring the security of their data and upholding the principles of integrity and respect for its stakeholders.

Priority Area 1: Integrity and Ethics

RETAIL VR is committed to conducting its business in compliance with applicable regulations, with integrity, transparency, and accountability.

In particular, the company is committed to combating all forms of corruption and conflicts of interest. RETAIL VR ensures fairness and non-discrimination in all its professional and business relationships, including with customers, suppliers, partners, and employees.

Target icon
RETAIL VR plans to develop a code of good business practices and anti-corruption by the end of 2026. This code will serve as an opportunity to raise awareness and must be signed by management and the sales team.

Priority Area 2. Cybersecurity

• Data Protection: To ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data—particularly that of its customers—RETAIL VR follows the guidelines of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). A designated data protection officer is responsible for ensuring that our operations comply with the GDPR, including managing requests for access, rectification, and erasure.

System Security: RETAIL VR takes cybersecurity extremely seriously and is committed to implementing responsible practices in this area. Our team regularly receives training on risks and best practices regarding phishing, password management, secure access, and more. An IT security and information systems usage policy was established in 2025 and must be signed by all employees.

Commitment to Our Customers: Cybersecurity is built into our offerings from the design phase, through our “Privacy and Security by Design” approach. In the event of a data breach, we are committed to communicating with and being transparent toward our customers and partners (notification within 72 hours in accordance with the GDPR).

RETAIL VR plans to begin the ISO 27001 certification process by 2028.

FAQ: Everything You Need to Know About the Digital Transformation of Merchandising and 3D Retail Layout

Which software should you choose for creating planograms?
To design effective planograms, a 3D merchandising platform like Retail VR is ideal. Unlike 2D tools, this retail layout software lets you model your stores. This allows you to simulate the layout of your aisles in 3D. It’s the #1 tool for organizing a store aisle in an ultra-realistic way. With it, you can validate space requirements and optimize the customer journey before deployment.
How do you create a 3D planogram and optimize product placement in a store?
Creating a 3D planogram involves digitizing your products and integrating them into a virtual environment. To optimize product placement in-store, our visual merchandising software tests different shelf and end-cap configurations. This allows you to adjust product facing and positioning—all based on their sales potential to maximize revenue.
What are the benefits of using a 3D merchandising simulation to test a concept?
Using a 3D merchandising simulation solution allows retailers to test a merchandising concept in a real-world setting, but in a 100% virtual environment. Before changing the layout of a store, this retail merchandising software enables retailers to visualize the final result, assess the visual impact, and conduct consumer tests. The ultimate goal is to validate the best retail merchandising strategy.
How can we improve and manage merchandising execution at the point of sale?
The main challenge for brands lies in ensuring compliance with guidelines on the sales floor. To manage merchandising execution and stay on track with the sales plan, Retail VR’s merchandising tool serves as a unique training resource. By providing field teams and department managers with an immersive 3D shelf simulation rather than a 2D PDF, you make it easier for them to understand the layout and improve compliance with in-store merchandising standards.
What does a collaborative "data-driven merchandising" approach entail?
Data-driven merchandising involves combining sales data with digital visual merchandising. Retail VR serves as a collaborative retail merchandising platform where marketing teams, managers, and sales representatives can exchange ideas. Together, they analyze performance and collaboratively develop planograms based on concrete data. This helps improve product visibility on the shelves and provides a basis for justifying placement decisions to retailers.
Is this merchandising software suited to the challenges faced by the retail, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries?
Yes, our merchandising software is specifically tailored to industry-specific requirements. Whether for mass retail, the cosmetics industry, or the pharmaceutical sector, Retail VR offers the flexibility to model every type of packaging and specific fixtures.
Why has digitizing retail merchandising become essential today?
Digitizing merchandising helps reduce physical prototyping costs and time-to-market. With virtual shelf-layout software, you eliminate the need to build physical showrooms. Consumer brands and retailers can design, validate, and share their layout concepts remotely, thereby accelerating sales negotiation and in-store rollout cycles.
Can the merchandising platform be used to conduct shopper studies?
Yes, absolutely. Thanks to our partners (check out our page dedicated to shopper research), your 3D planograms and store layouts can be used directly to survey consumers online. This allows you to accurately collect and analyze their behavioral data.
These interactive online surveys can be tailored to your needs and are suitable for both qualitative and quantitative analysis, particularly through immersive store simulations and augmented reality.
How is artificial intelligence (AI) used in Retail VR's merchandising solution?
Artificial intelligence is at the heart of our solution for automating time-consuming tasks and optimizing your processes:
• Automatic modeling: AI is already being used today to model your products in 3D 100% automatically.
• Planogram generation: Our team of data scientists is actively working on integrating AI to enable the automatic reconstruction of your planograms.
• The main goal? To save your users valuable time and simplify the management of your retail locations.
