According to Jack Ma, head of Alibaba, "Pure e-commerce will be replaced by the concept of hybrid commerce. The integration of online and offline operations, logistics and data into a single value chain". For him, the future of retail lies in the promise of a simple, dynamic and personalized experience, seamless between offline and online formats. In fact, one of the first virtual reality shopping experiences came from Alibaba.
